Measuring approximately 14 inches from bottom of base to top of her head, she has a sturdy wire armature which extends all the way through her delicate looking fingers. 

The really unique feature of this mermaid is the tail decoration. 

Using a technique adapted from ancient glass making art different colors of clay are blended and manipulated to create the intricate design. 

Many hours were invested in creating the canes for this piece.

The wooden base features a round mirror which not only reflects the underside of the fluke but also casts a gentle shimmer of ocean-like light up onto the doll. 

The mirror is surrounded by sculpted flowing waves that flow from the art nouveau woman's face on the back.
